Dropbox
Storing files on a server has been common-place for quite some time now, but Dropbox has taken the idea of remote file storage to the next level. Dropbox allows you to have a Dropbox folder on your local computer that automatically syncs your files on the Dropbox server(s) when a file-change is made. You can organize the files in anyway that you want without interruptions.
In order to get Dropbox you have to signup. Afterwards you download a small application that will make your Dropbox folder. You can install the application and use the same account on multiple computers. So if you make a change to your files on one computer, the changes will be reflected on all the other computers you have using Dropbox.
Dropbox even allows you to share files with your friends. The shared file syncing works the same way, only that you and your friends have control of them.
You can even access your files through the Dropbox site when you happen to be on a computer that does not have your Dropbox.
Dropbox is a super useful tool with endless applications that all people should have, especially students.
