Dylan’s Candy

Is there a Dylan’s Candy store where you live? The closest store to me is in Houston in the Galleria. Inside Dylan’s Candy store there are all sorts of candy. You can get a hold of candy this is no longer sold in stores (like “Zebra-Stripes”) or Dylan’s own candy. I don’t have a very big sweet tooth, so I just browsed and looked. I think alot of people tend to do that at the store because it is just such a colorful and interesting sight to take in.

Coming here to pick up candy for candy required days such as valentines, christmas etc. is probably a-lot of fun. I may have to make a trip to see if there is a lot of action.

Christmas Mexico Trip 09

This year, I heading south of the Texas border to spend Christmas with my family. It was a good time and we all just relaxed and enjoyed being home. Got a set of pictures to show you all and will be adding more in the near future. I just have to hunt down the other photographer ;).

Christmas Lights Boat Parade

A few days before Christmas I went to a “Christmas Boat Parade”. The idea was cool and they had some real cool lighted boats. At the same time, the parade proceeded rather slowly (they are boat’s people!) and it was hard to wait in the cold weather.

Nike plus

To keep myself in shape, lately i’ve been running. Running is a just a great way to stay fit and it keeps your hear thealthy, but sometimes you just need some movtivation. My motivation has come from the Nike plus (Nike +) kit I bought a few days ago. Nike + is a system that nike has developed in which you can keep track of your runs through some wirless accesories and their online portal Nikeplus.com.

The way it works: first, you place a small transmitter inside/on your show. Afterwards, your nike+ bracelet or Iphone or Itouch connects to this transmitter wirelessly. The bracelet asks you to walk for a few seconds and afterward you are ready to go. After you finish running you stop the clock on the bracelet and your run is saved. You can then plug the bracelet into your usb port on your computer and it will automatically connect to Nikeplus.com and upload your run.

Through Nikeplus.com you can share your runs with your friends and even set goals and commit to challenges. With proper calibration you can even see calories burned and other intersting details about your run. The visuals on the the site are real nice to look at too. As of late, i’ve caught the concert attending bug. For halloween I went to a concert that had one of my favorite bands name Thrice. They are such a great live band, although their set was just a little too short. I still rocked out the songs they played anyways. The other bands that played (The builders and the butchers and Brand New) were great too.

Apo Hiking Society Concert (Stafford, Texas)

I’ve been listening to Apo Hiking Society for almost a year now and got the ultimate listen when I got to see them concert in Stafford a few weeks ago. Apo Hiking Society is a Filipino band that has been together for 40 years. Their music is the type of music that transcends both time and genre. I have their discography and am always finding something new from their songs.

Although listening to Apo on the radio is good, nothing can prepare you for how great they are in concert. They managed to play their greatest songs in a non-stop mixture of songs that could only be handled by artist like them. I hope they come back to the US next year, because I will totally be there.

I forgot my camera, so I did my best with the iphone. … ye i know…

Haruhi t-shirt

This is my first real anime t-shirt and it features Haruhi from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Haruhi is on the front of the shirt while giving the peace sign. It is also branded on the sleeve, which is a nice touch. I haven’t had a chance to wear it, but hopefully I will this weekend.

Southern California Trip

I went on a weekend trip to Southern California this past weekend and had a blast. I got a chance to visit San Diego, OceanSide and LA. It’s definately a different world out there, but It is very nice and worth living in. The scenery is just magnificent everywhere you go. The beaches have nice chilly blue waters and the weather is just perfect.

Oceanside has a great scenery and looks like a very peaceful and relaxing place to live. I stayed in Oceanside and enjoyed the relaxed feeling of waking up to the cool mountain air.

In San Diego, I went to downtown, Old Town and Coronado. In LA, I visited hollywood and got fairly close to “the sign”. It was real cool to see all these thing you see on television in person.

And like most of my adventures, I had to try the food, which was great.

On Sunday I headed back to Texas very satisfied. Plus, the weather is actually pretty good in Texas now. Yessss.!
